UTM is well-known to produce a lot of engineers every year. However, most of the graduates are only fitted to work as production engineers, process engineers, Quality Assurance engineers and maintenance engineers. The number of engineers who are qualified to work as a design or R&D engineers are still lacking. Therefore, it is imperative to take initial steps to catalyze a culture of excellence among UTM students especially in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

The culture of excellence can only be taken without ignoring the real trouble group of students before it become a disease. Hence, the first step to be taken is to create a group of students to be groomed as a world class R&D engineers. This group of students would consists mostly Malay students or else they will carry the disease to the learning culture in UTM! Once the elite Malay students group is established, this group of students would become a catalyst to booster the moral and confidence among Malay students. Subsequently, the peer and juniors would follow suit.

In the long run, Malay students would establish their own contacts and network among Malay students. Using the established network, they can exchange ideas, information, experiences and organise activities to improve their study and well being.

In order not to be biased, we also accept non-Malay students who have excellent acheivement and can get along with the Malay students to grow together.
